Any brush you see can be made with either Silvertip or upgraded to Super Badger bristle.
One of my more imaginative brushes just in time for Halloween! The body is ebony and the inlay is arhodium/palladium mixture which is from the platinum family. The inlay is a spiderweb and the actual spider is a combination of lapis lazuli and coral. This silvertip brush has a knot size of 22mm and an overall length of 5 inches.
Note: the inlay of metal into wood is without a doubt one of the most difficult challenges because it is all done freehand. To get perfect lines is impossible by hand, you would need a CNC router or a laser printer, but then, what's the point? You lose all of the old world handmade uniqueness because you could make 1 or 1000 pieces and they all would come out the same due to manufacturing repeatability.
Vintage 1980's Campagnolo Seatpost turned into a shaving brush!
This brush is another example of the varying degrees of custom work I do. This brush was designed for a client who was a fan of cycling and they happened to like Campagnolo which is an Italian manufacturer of bicycle parts (I have ridden Campy my whole life). Feel free to check out the photos to see the different design steps involved. My pricing for this type of work starts at the price listed so long as you supply me with the part. We can collaborate on the materials and shape. I just wanted to show you what I can do with a vintage 1980's seatpost bought on eBay. The silvertip brush was a 24mm, the 2 black endpieces were water buffalo horn.
Here is a unique 2-tone shaving brush: genuin horn and pink ivory coupled with a nice 22mm silvertip knot brush size. The handle height is 3 inches. Please note that this brush can be nicely inlaid with your initials (Perhaps Lapis Lazuli or how about Turquoise?). You are getting a genuine horn/pink ivory brush for the same price as most manufacturers charge for plastic handles brushes.
One of the hardest woods on the planet goes into making this silvertip badger shaving brush. Great balance, nice heft, very tight grain. 22mm know or whatever your preference is. Also available in Superbadger.
Desert Ironwood is a difficult wood to work with because of its hardness, it dulls cutting tools very fast. However the effort put into it is well worth it. The finished product is stunning. The handles I make are cut from ironwood logs, I do not use any pre-made blanks because I prefer to use ironwood from the center of the log where it is most dense.
My own personal brush which I use 80% of the time is a desert ironwood one.
This is the pinnacle of where I really exel in terms of design complexity and originality. The brush is premium Super Badger, 22 or 24mm knot. The handle is hand carved (not turned) Pink Ivory which is without a doubt, the most expensive exotic wood in the world. I complete this wonderful piece with a 5,000 year old amber cobochan. Length: 5.5 inches.
The picture shows this brush with an inlay. You have the opportunity to have this brush made with an inlay of your initials or not. I typically like to use genuine Lapis Lazuli, Jet, or Turquoise because of the nice contrast.

A nice robust teak handle with 24mm knot silvertip badger. Teak is one of the few woods that is resistant to water including salt water for maritime applications. The handle is very robust, excellent ergodynamics and balance, handle alone is just under 3 inches.
Custom cast acrylic creates an unusual array of red and black in what I like to call: "Big Red". 22mm knot, the handle is 100% waterproof. Nice heft, great balance, a joy to use!
Here is a handmade, premium badger hair (commonly referred to as: Silvertip) shaving brush. I carved this piece from a solid block of highly figured exhibition grade cocobolo from Panama and then polished it to a mirror smooth shine with a rather unique twist of incorporating an ergonomic handle. This is one of the most comfortable brushes I have made since all the sides and profiles allow your fingers to grip it effortlessly. This is one well balanced brush! Height: 4.25 inches, knot: 22mm. I can use other knot sizes as well. If you want premium Super Badger, I can do that too for a nominal fee.
A nice robust teak handle with 22mm knot silvertip badger. Teak is one of the few woods that is resistant to water including salt water for maritime applications. Smaller profile handle from the other teak brush. 22mm knot
